Oath Keepers
Michael LeMieux from Oath Keepers, spoke at the Treynor Optimist Club on June 19. He teaches on the U.S. Constitution and is author of the book “unalienable Rights and the Denial of the U.S. Constitution”.
According to their pamphlet, “Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of currently serving military, reserves, National Guard, veterans, Peace Officers, and Fire Fighters who will fulfill the oath we swore, with the support of like minded citizens who take an oath to stand with us, to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so help us God” … We will not obey unconstitutional (and thus unlawful) and immoral orders, such as orders to disarm American people or to place them under martial law.” Oath Keepers was started last year and now has 30,000 members.
Michael was a military child. His family was in Spain when he was a teenager. He joined the Army at age 17 and went to Korea. He was in the Army for 4 years, in the Navy for 6 years, then got a college degree in Computer Science. He joined the National Guard and was in the Special Forces for 10 years. He was seriously injured in Iraq.
